    1.    You are what you eat.....Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending which way you look at it) the old adage is true - we really are what we eat.
An unhealthy lifestyle combined with poor eating habits are quickly reflected in our bodies.  Not only do we gain the pounds, our  unhealthy
lifestyle takes its toll on our hair, skin and nails, making us look and feel less than enchanting!

Skin is our body's largest organ and is responsible for eliminating toxins that invade us 24/7.  It is therefore not surprising that if we make
healthier choices in our everday life, our complexion will show it.

Follow these rules and the result will be a more beautiful, healthier and confident you!

To look and feel your best, try to eat a well-balanced diet.  Choose at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day.  A good variety of
different  coloured fruit and veg means you will be getting a better selection of the nutrients your body needs to thrive.

You can pile your plate high with the following with the security of knowing it won't only not show on your waistline, but will also clear your
skin,  shine your hair and nourish your nails.
    • Almonds - these are rich in vitamin E and fatty acids to help keep skin supple and looking young.  (1 portion would be 6-8 almonds per day).
    • Avocados - high in protein, avocados help build up keatin to keep your nails strong and nourished.  They are full of 'good' unsaturate
    • fats that soften and smooth your skin (mash it up and smother your cleansed face with it for a wonderful, natural moisturising face mask).
    • Salad vegetables - lettuce, peppers, spring onion, celery, radish, cucumber etc.  These are nutrient rich essentials containing vitamin B which  help keep the skin and hair silky, fresh and young.
    • Broccoli and leafy green vegetables are good sources of vitamin C which promotes and protect collagen.   Collagen provides support and elasticity to the skin thereby reducing wrinkles (vitamin c is especially important for smokers as smoking drains the body of main essential vitamins and minerals, affecting your ability to absorb these vital nutrients).
    • Carrots are an excellent source of beta-carotene which is a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger.  Beta-carotene is converted to vitamin A in the body.  Research shows that this can repair skin damaged by the sun which is responsible for skin ageing.
    • Consume superfoods that help the body fight cell damage from free radicals which are responsible for skin ageing, such as raw cacao, spirulina, wheatgrass, green tea, goji berries, acai berries, blueberries and sea vegetables (or take in supplement form).
    • Last but not least, drink plenty of water (at least 8-10 glasses) to wash out the toxins from the body, moisten and refresh skin and make it glow!
